18/06/17 -- Fingle Bridge, Castle Drogo and River Teign

A 10km walk along the top of the gorge by the River Teign near Castle Drogo with a return along the Teign River. Most of the walk is on easy paths . There is one climb at the beginning from Fingle Bridge to join the Hunters path and one other short climb over some rocks on the riverside path ( this is stepped and has a railing) From the Hunters path there are far reaching views of the River Teign and surrounding countryside. We plan to have our coffee stop in the grounds of Castle Drogo(NT) where there is a café and toilets.

To get to Fingle Bridge travel up the A38 to join A30 near Exeter heading towards Oakhampton. Fingle Bridge is close to Drewsteignton and this is signposted off the A30 near Cheriton Bishop. This may be a slightly longer route but fast roads. The alternative route is up the Teign Valley via Bovey Tracey and Moretonhampstead.

Meet at Fingle Bridge car park EX6 6PW (SX743898) or car share from the Watermark at 9.00
